Greetings! And How to Use… the Directional Buttons…
(…Er… Yeah… I can’t believe I have to even do this page…)
Welcome to Towner’s Webcomic! Created in 1997 by Christopher Galletta Stevens as a miniaturized/kid-friendly version of the author’s other webcomic, ChrusherComix. Chris calls the strip, “a heavily inspired-by homage to several of Chris’ favorite comic strips and cartoons, but probably mostly Bill Watterson’s ‘Calvin and Hobbes’.”
For years, it seems startling how FEW people navigate the strip and leave after 1, maybe 2 pages tops. Looking at the statistics, the website debuted in 2005, and despite the fact that there are hundreds of strips that 99.99999999% of visitors have never read! And that (along with a day job, wife, kids, a 2nd strip, and several other hobbies) is why new strips are so few and far between… very few visitors and even less feedback. In fact, the most hits this site gets is — no hyperbole — 99.9% hackers and spammers. No lie, I can show you if you don’t believe me.
The Directional Buttons
Towner comics have a chronological order, based on the date of production. Many are one-off strips, but some do follow a storyline.
The navigation buttons — despite being fairly large and having descriptions beneath each — should be self-explanatory, but it is both shocking and sad that so few people know how to use them.
- First Comic (Overall)
- First Comic in Chapter (of a particular storyline)

- Previous Comic in the chapter
- Prior Chapter (of a particular storyline)

Look closely! See? Seems intuitive, right? I thought so. Good! NAVIGATE!!! 🙂
Testing… great job, teeruk.
